Lately, working on images like that, makes me a bit sad, because living in a world of imagination or where those monsters live is also a place of solitude. Mh, a bit melodramatic. The idea of forging a truce with your fears is reassuring - if they accept. I sometimes wish, that the grown up fears and hazy reasons for discomfort could be bested with cookies and tea as well.

Oh, Gab, es ist wundervoll.
Das Konzept ist sehr ausdrucksstark - bekämpfte Ängste wehren sich, und ignorierte Ängste schlagen aus dem Hinterhalt zu, aber Ängste, deren Gegenwart man anerkennt, ohne sich vor ihnen zu verstecken, lassen sich manchmal zähmen.
Sehr schöne Stimmung - nicht grade friedlich und immer noch bedrohlich, aber mit einer gewissen ... erzwungenen Ruhe. Waffenstillstand halt.
Ich wünsche dir alles Gute nachträglich zum Geburtstag.

meiner erfahrung nach werden ängste nicht gerade kleiner, wenn man gegen sie ankämpft - insofern ist ein waffenstillstand vielleicht gar kein so schlechter schritt. dem bild nach zu urteilen, scheint das aber eher ein beschluss der ängste zu sein. die sind nicht nur wesentlich größer und umzingeln und bedrängen die kleine zarte gestalt in der mitte, sie halten es offenbar nicht mal für nötig, ihre masken abzunehmen. das pyjama-mädel kann also gar nicht wissen, mit wem es da gerade einen vertrag schließt. sieht nicht gerade nach einer guten verhandlungsposition aus ... das bild wirkt auf mich eigentlich eher wie eine kapitulation denn ein waffenstillstand. würde die kleine aufstehen und nicht gegen die drei großen da kämpfen, sondern ihnen die masken herunterreißen, dann sähe die situation vielleicht anders aus ...

danke für diese beobachtung. es... ist eine kapitulation. Ich hab viele Kämpferbilder gemalt und eigentlich wärs doch was schönes, nen optimistischen kekstausch anzubieten... ich muss plötzlich an deinen Punk beim Blaubeerkuchen denken - so in etwa dann das Monster und das oblivious child mit blau verschmiertem mund.... aber das eine Monster ist größer als der Raum und das Bodenlose... Du hast besser beschrieben, wohin das Bild für mich geht, als es mir gelungen ist. Danke dafür. Und überhaupt fürs Vorbeischauen und Kommentieren : )

the ones of the character have shapes... but even if my fears where shaped that way, i doubt I would stay in the same room with them...or above the blanket *shudder*

I always went with the device: what has a visible thus physical shape can be fought. I mean, that's what fears are all about, fighting that is. Most fears kept intangible for me though.
