this picture was a relief. i am very, very thankful, that those ideas are still vivid.

refuge - for something very fragile.

its water color but sadly needed to be worked over, because the scan wouldnt work right.

Excellent.
I dont know what your specific idea was, but this reminds me of the importance some artists place on their sketchbooks, and how it often seems like a refuge for the delicate ideas and thoughts swarming in their heads that they want to keep safe, but also a refuge for the artist when they need to hide in their sketching.
